About Pop! Heights Park
Far South Community Development Corporation, along with their partners, developed this community park and celebrated the grand opening on October 29h, 2022. Designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), POP! Heights Park is located along the busy South Halsted commercial corridor between 112th and 113th Streets (11227 South Halsted) and provides 21,780 square feet of multi-use outdoor space for Far South Side communities including Roseland, Morgan Park and West Pullman. The project is supported by the City of Chicago’s Public Outdoor Plaza (POP!) program which seeks to help community-based organizations revitalize underutilized land along neighborhood retail corridors. Sheldon Heights Church of Christ owns the land and are integral partners in the project. Butler Frelix Construction performed the site work and construction.
